THE GOVERNOR

“The dreams I share with you is the passion within me.”

ENGR. JERRY UYAMI DALIPOG
The Eighteenth and Nineteenth Governor of the Province of Ifugao
2019-2022 and 2022-present

Engr. Jerry Uyami Dalipog is a public servant for over 2 decades now.  As such, his steadfast leadership is characterized as one exhibiting humility, compassion and dynamism.  Commonly described as a “man of action’, he prefers working quietly while ensuring the accomplishment of tasks ahead in the light of attaining the goals of the Province.

Fueled by his professional orientation as a Civil Engineer, he envisions Ifugao to be technologically equipped with provisions of the necessary support facilities and amenities where industries, government and non-government institutions, business owners / SMEs and farmers converge towards creative innovations and long-term collaborations.  With the end in view of an integrated community of science and technology, he dreams Ifugao to be a hub of dynamic learning and entrepreneurial ingenuities.

HUMBLE BEGINNINGS

Jerry Uyami Dalipog was born on 20 February 1964 at Banaue, Ifugao.  He completed his elementary and secondary education at the Banaue Central School and at the Immaculate Conception School, respectively, in Banaue, Ifugao.  He graduated from the University of the Cordilleras (former Baguio Colleges Foundation) with the degree in Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering (1988).

FAMILY

Jerry is the eldest among nine children of Mr. Ruben G. Dalipog and Mrs. Elizabeth G. Uyami.  His siblings are Jacqueline, Julie, Maribeth, Efren, Baltazar, Delfin, Marvin and Myraquel.  He is married to Angelina H. Dalipog and are blessed with three children, namely, Jan Ghowab, Earnest Vymeah, Jiezle.

A PUBLIC SERVANT

Barely two years after graduating from his degree and after successfully receiving his Professional License as a Civil Engineer, he 1st entered government service in June 1990 as Infrastructure Analyst and later promoted to Project Development Officer of the Provincial Planning and Development Office of the Provincial Local Government Unit of Ifugao.  His desire to serve his hometown, Banaue, became his greatest motivation as he transferred work to the Municipal Local government Unit of Banaue on 16 January 1993 as Municipal Engineer.  Having successfully satisfied himself in the profession, his passion to serve his Municipality drove him to accept the challenge, not as a mere employee but as an elective official this time. Thus, in 2024, he was sworn into public office as Municipal Mayor of Banaue until 2007 (1st Term). He sought a second term in 2007, however, was not fortunate to be re-elected, thus, navigated a new work environment and focused in managing his private contracting firm.

Later, he came back as Municipal Mayor and served a second term from 2010 to 2013. He was re-elected into office for two more terms  and served his 3rd Term from 2013 to 2016 and his 4th Term from 2016 to 2019.

During his first term as Municipal Mayor of Banaue, the MLGU received the Seal of Good Housekeeping from the Department of Interior and Local Government followed by other awards which are the Seal of Good Local Government during his third term and the 2018 Excellent Rating in Anti-Red Tape Act Report Card.

His calling to be a public servant coupled with his ardent desire to serve the Province and of  leaving a legacy as well, caused him to impose upon himself greater responsibilities as he made his way to the governatorial race in 2019 and was installed as the 18th Governor of Ifugao, thus, his 1st Term.  Vying for a second term as Governor in the 2022 elections and with an overwhelming result, he now serves his 2nd Term as the 19th Governor.

His administration is one of challenges stemming from long overdue clamor of the provision of some basic necessities such as water supply which has been the need of the communities since decades ago and the completion of the Ifugao General Hospital which now stands operational at its new site in Lumingay Street, población North, Lagawe, Ifugao.  Such other provisions are also underway like various infrastructures being built at Sitio Cadel, Bahawit, Poblacion South, Lagawe, Ifugao.  These structures are the Vehicular and Food Terminal, Food Processing Center, Cadel Access Road, Sports Complex Swimming Pool, and other buildings of national government agencies. Moreover, Farm to Market Roads were opened such as those that connect and traverse through District 1 and District 2 and a number of provincial roads were rehabilitated.   These are but a few of the numerous initiatives the Dalipog Administration has initiated.

With the end in view of a progressive Province, his administration is full of optimism as it continually commits to providing quality public service for the collective well-being of every Ifugao.

He enjoins every Ifugao to journey with him in achieving our ultimate goal of a culturally vibrant Province.
